Matthew Grabell is a seasoned employment lawyer and trainer. Prior to joining Porter Thomas Grabell & Baumwoll, Matt was the managing partner of the Law Office of Matthew Grabell and CEO of Employee Relations Solutions. Matthew has been practicing employment law for over twenty-seven years, primarily representing employees in claims of wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Matt has also conducted hundreds of internal investigations of employee claims.
In 2007, he decided to switch teams, opening up the plaintiff’s playbook to corporations to provide them with the legal weapons necessary to avoid major employee lawsuits. He frequently lectures across the country on the areas most commonly and easily attacked by attorneys representing employees in such litigation.
Matt also works with organizations that want to take a proactive approach to reduce the risk of claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. They are companies that understand the value of and invest in, enhancing their management skills to avoid the legal land mines that could cost them valuable time and money. He has also successfully trained management and staff at companies such as CBS Paramount Television, Wendy’s, Actylis, ABC/Disney, Imagine Entertainment, MLB, Simon & Schuster, Showtime, AKA/NYC, DCH Auto Group, Wyndham Worldwide, Bergen Community College, Rising Pharmaceuticals, Showtime, Marvel and many more. He has also been a repeat presenter at The Garden State Council – SHRM Annual Conference and The Tri-State Human Resources Management Association Annual Conference as well as various local SHRM chapters.
In 2023, Matt published a best-selling book on the topic, titled: The Employee Lawyer’s Playbook: The Top-Ten Mistakes Employers Make That Plaintiff Attorneys Seek To Exploit.
Mr. Grabell received his B.S. degree in Marketing from New York University and his J.D. from Seton Hall University.
